Fax: Send, Receive and Fax-RX

1. Setting Up Fax

First step is for you to get a dedicated FAX number for your practice from us or if you already have one, we can help you port it. Once you have purchased the number, you can set it up following below steps. Your practice fax number is displayed under Settings β†’ Fax, where it can also be updated if required. Enable FAX and FAX-RX from here.

You can also manually add a list of your preferred pharmacies here.

2. Sending a Fax

You can send a fax directly from any patient's chart.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to the patient's chart.

  2. Go to the Faxes tab and click Send Fax.

  3. Upload the document you wish to fax.

  4. Enter the recipient's fax number.

  5. Add a recipient name and subject (optional, but recommended for easier tracking).

  6. Click Send.

3. Fax Inbox

The Fax Inbox is your central hub for managing all fax activity. It is accessible from the left sidebar whenever the Fax service is enabled.

From the Fax Inbox, you can:

  • View all inbound and outbound faxes in one place.

  • Check the delivery status of sent faxes.

  • Review received faxes and file them directly to a patient's chart from the inbox.

  • Assign unmatched inbound faxes to the correct patient.

4. Faxing Prescriptions (Fax RX)

If Fax RX is enabled for your practice, providers can fax prescriptions directly to pharmacies from the patient's chart.

Steps:

  • Open the patient's chart and navigate to the Medication tab.

  • Click the Fax RX button and fill in the prescription details.

  • Choose a pharmacy from your saved list, or search the national directory.

  • Click Sign & Fax to complete the transmission.

5. Managing Your Pharmacy List

To streamline prescription faxing, you can maintain a list of frequently used pharmacies.

You have two options to add a pharmacy:

  • Add Manually β€” Enter the pharmacy name, fax number, and other details.

  • Fetch from Directory β€” Search by pharmacy name or zip code to locate and add pharmacies from the national directory.
